Pegasus Capital Hires Thomas Emmons to Focus on Mezzanine Debt for Renewable Energy and Infrastructure

Pegasus Capital Advisors, L.P. (“Pegasus” or “Pegasus Capital”) is pleased to announce that Thomas Emmons has joined the company and will focus on mezzanine capital in the renewable energy and clean infrastructure sectors.

“We are delighted to welcome Tom to the team as we continue to broaden the capabilities of Pegasus within our resource scarcity strategy,” said Craig Cogut, Founder of Pegasus Capital. “Pegasus is committed to our sustainable business investment platform, which includes renewable energy and sustainable infrastructure, and we know that Tom will bring valuable skills and connections in support of our growth ambitions.”

Prior to joining Pegasus, Mr. Emmons was at Rabobank and HSH Nordbank, where over the last 13 years he founded, built, and led two industry-leading teams. At Rabobank, he and his team of 12 committed over $5 billion across over 100 project financings valued at over $21 billion in the solar, wind, and bioenergy sectors. He has served as advisor and board member, and provided and arranged debt and equity financing for numerous renewable energy and infrastructure companies. From the beginning of the expansion period of the US wind and solar sectors, his financing teams provided important and innovative debt and equity capital which fueled early growth in the sectors.  In implementing this mezzanine investment strategy in renewable energy and sustainable infrastructure, Mr. Emmons will work with Edward Levin, who joined Pegasus from Rabobank in 2013.

Mr. Emmons has served on the boards of the Solar Energy Industries Association, SkyPower Corporation, and GEC Holdings LLC, and is currently a director of BrightFarms Inc., a greenhouse developer and operator. He is on the Leadership Council of the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies. He is a graduate of Yale College and Harvard Business School.
